Love is in the air during February. Many of us get angsty at the thought of confessing our love to that special person in our hearts, and well there are some of us that are contemplating what we will eat that day. February 14th is a day many of us dread while others are ecstatically waiting for its arrival. Whether you are a lonely lad, in a relationship, or confused these are some fun activities to take part in on this day.
Romantic Dinner
I know what you might be thinking at this moment that a romantic dinner is such a couple thing to do, but it does not have to be. You can be with your partner, friends, or even alone, enjoying a nice dinner at a cozy restaurant or cooking that meal at home. Preparing that meal at home gives you the opportunity to show off your amazing singing and dancing skills. I would recommend listening to the playlist White gurl bangers” on Spotify by J. Chesterfield. It will keep you singing like there is no tomorrow as it is a mix of our childhood most popular songs.
Movie Night
Do not want to get out of your house to do something for Valentine’s Day, no worries. You can have a movie marathon with your friends or significant other. Some popular Valentine’s Day movies to watch would be:
To all the Boys I’ve Loved Before: a teen rom com that follows the story of Lara Jean Covey whose secret love letter was mailed out, leading her to have some romantic complications.
Another one is The Fault in Our Stars: Based on the bestselling novel, this is an emotional drama that tells the story of two teenagers who meet in a cancer support group and embark on a journey of love and self-discovery.
10 Things I hate About You: is one of my all-time classic teen film romances that follows a high school student named Kat as she navigates love and family relationships.
The next one is an odd one, but it is an iconic teen comedy that explores the dynamics of high school cliques and friendship, with a sprinkle of romance mixed in, Mean Girls.
The Perks of Being a Wallflower is a coming-of- age move that follows the experiences of an introverted high school freshman named Charlie as he navigates friendship, love, and mental health issues.
Sixteen Candles: an 80’s classic, this romantic comedy that follows a teenage girl named Samantha as she navigates the ups and downs of love and adolescence on her sixteenth birthday.
Spa Day
Having a spa day on Valentines Day is not a bad idea when you have been through it with all the stresses of life. You can treat yourself to a relaxing day at the spa, either solo or with friends that make fun of you with a face mask on. Back to the realistic, most of us do not have the money to go to the spa, so get your robe and prepare yourself a nice and warm bath with bath salts, burn a candle, put a face mask on, paint your nails, and play a serene playlist.
Outdoor Adventure
This is one is a bit of a stretch for many of us, but it would be such a cute and fun idea to do with a partner or friends. You can go for a hike, have a picnic in the park, or take a scenic drive to enjoy nature’s beauty. On your picnic you can place your all-time favorite snacks and games to play. You can also go out and do some flower picking and make some cute flower crowns.
DIY Craft Night
For my artistic and creative people out there, you can test your partner’s or friend’s artistic side by doing DIY projects like making Valentine’s Day cards, painting, and crafting. You can also try crocheting or knitting a cute bag or stuffed animal. You can also do the candle wax painting trend as seen on Pinterest where you get to design your own candle.
Indoor Go Karting
This one is crazy I know, but who does not like having their fast and furious moment?! Everyone would have a blast and it is full of adrenaline rush as you speed around the track. It would be an amazing way to have fun on Valentine Day when you are competing with your friends or random people. It is a terrific way to create some unforgettable memories together and afterwards you can go grab a bite.
