How is the Hispanic Heritage Month celebrated at FOHI? The Hispanic heritage month (from September 15th to October 15th) is an event Americans celebrate showcasing the Hispanic cultures, traditions, and acknowledging the contributions of our Hispanic brothers and sisters.
The schools of the Fontana unified school district (specially FOHI) live to celebrate our Hispanic people. On Saturday, October 14 there was a Hispanic heritage month celebration at Fontana high school, and there was even a mariachi!
Love for the Hispanic culture is shown all over FOHI, with posters and activities. Around our school there are posters emphasizing the contributions of several Hispanic figures as well as different posters showing a lot of the Hispanic folklore. Activities such as the one organized by the EL (English Learners) club where Hispanic descendent students pinned the country they descended from which was a great opportunity for students to meet people either from their same country or from other Hispanic countries.
FOHI is composed of mainly Hispanic descendant students and this month embraces our Hispanic descendant students that give FOHI its essence and diversity.
