On the 18th of April our amazing track and field athletes had their senior night. Senior Night is a big deal for everyone as it is a chance to celebrate all the hard work of athletes that dedicated their years to something they love. It gets everyone emotional saying goodbye to their favorite seniors who help their underclassmen in various ways, whether it be teaching them their tricks to jump higher or to not get nervous before a meet or even what they did to pass a certain class. It doesn’t matter because the seniors deserve to be celebrated in Fohl fashion.
The Senior night started off with a meet against Carter Highschool in which everyone was excited for to see who will win, and of course our Fohi steelers ended up crushing it, with Coach Chavez announcing that the track and field teams won their well-deserved and hard-earned league title with girls winning 64-63.
It is a track and field tradition for the Senior to walk with their friends and loved ones while the coaches announce what the seniors want to say to everyone and give them their thanks. It is an emotional part for everyone, but it is a celebration for the seniors to get a chance to thank their friends, family and coaches.
Furthermore, we interviewed some of these seniors to get an insight into their Track and Field years.
